The open cell metal backing allows for air to pass through the filter in both directions, allowing for sound conditioning that doesn't end up sounding tinny or adding unwanted reverb.
The dual-hinged center spine is designed to allow for easy opening to accomodate two mics when stereo recording is required. Simply install the included stereo bar, and install your mics and instant stereo.

From the front view, you can see the special multi-layer foam, specifically designed for this reflexion filter. There are different densities of foam built into this plain looking grey foam! This is not your typical sound-proofing foam!
Note the stereo and mono setup. Changing takes 2 minutes with a phillips screwdriver! The QM-101 includes all hardware you need to use in both modes.

The heart of the re-design of the QM-101 is in the purple circle. Our old version used an arm that stuck out the back and used a clamp on a mic stand.
This new model has a heavy-duty 5/8x27 mic mount, that puts the reflexion filter on top, with all the weight now resting on the mic stand, not clamped with a rod to it. This creates the most stable, strongest reflexion filter ever designed!
